Thats easy to do, you can easily provide a plugin-selector on top of
plugincontroller. Whats really missind is storing that information
somehow and thats where I think session support really is missing. I was
planning to have a go at that this week.

That will only be interesting once we have wide support for plugins in
other languages than C++.

This already exists within kde and its called knewstuff2. But I don't
see this in 4.0, thats exactly the kind of thing that should be added to
4.1.
