Decryption error after moving Kleopatra to a new device

I have performed the following steps below:

Next to kleopatra.exe you should find two batch files:

gpg-enable-keyboxd.bat

gpg-disable-keyboxd.bat

The first batch file migrates all certificates from the file to the database and enables the use of the database. Running this batch file should fix the problem.

If this doesn't help then delete the file %APPDATA%\GnuPG\common.conf (which should just contain the line "use-keyboxd" and some comments). This will disable the use of the database so that GnuPG and Kleopatra use the files that you transferred from the old system.

I had to remove the common.conf and I was able to enter the passphrase. I get this error now:

Hi,

new installations of Gpg4win store the user's certificates in a database (using a component called keyboxd) instead of in a simple file. For details see the second point in the release notes of Gpg4win Version 4.2.0 at https://gpg4win.org/change-history.html

Regards,

Ingo
