Ok, thanks. A bit confusing having both as the column doesn;t automatically 
come into view.  

Just tried ait and it doesn;t seem to work properly, if i widen the view to 
allow space to show the Unread column and set the option on, it does not 
appear, you have to widen the view again after setting it on. When you 
eventually see the column the numbers are so far to the right they bump right 
up against the message pane separator, it would be better either centred or 
left justified.
