So apparently the "special" icon is set by defining a custom icon when the folder is first declared or detected to have a special role. I guess that makes sense :) This inbox indeed had a new special icon set, one can only speculate why (but it might be a similar reason as whatever caused that Inbox's entry in the favourites list to be linked to the Outbox after the db change ...)
I've reset it to the correct icon, we'll see how well that sticks.
