I think we have had this discussion on another forum and my
suggestions did not help much so I am not going to repeat them. The
issue of failed KNotes migration is known but there seems to be no
"correct answer". At this moment I have somehow ended up with 2
collections that together hold my old notes.

However, for a number of reasons, my notetaker of choice has for some
time been Basket. Sadly there is no active development on this
software and it is not part of KDEPIM but for functionality I think it
is way superior to Notes, Jots and so on

Not really an answer, sorry. I did somehow manage by recreating
"normal" notes collection (not Akonotes) pointing to my
/HOME/.local/share/notes and
/HOME/.local/share/notes/.somethingnumberscryptical folders
