I have no idea of your distro but in Kubuntu for now KMail2 is in a 
separate repository. What I did was remove said repo, update the 
sources. Then I uninstalled KMail and reinstalled. All worked well after 
that, had a minor hickup upgrading to 4.7 but was sorted. Still on 
KMail1 and thanks for that for now...
