Having problems here. I'm not familiar with thunderbird, and can't find where
to set the password. I thought that perhaps trying to check mail would
request the password, but it didn't, just getting a denial.

Hitting ctrl-l in kmail brought up

Error while uploading folder
Could not make the folder Calendar on the server.
This could be because you do not have permission to do this, or because the
folder is already present on the server; the error message from the server
communication is here:
Could Not Create Folder
An attempt to create the requested folder failed.
Details of the request:
URL: (unknown)
Date and time: Monday 24 March 2008 10:36
Additional information: imap://anne@192.168.0.40:143/INBOX.Calendar/
Possible causes:
Your access permissions may be inadequate to perform the requested operation
on this resource.
The location where the folder was to be created may not exist.
A protocol error or incompatibility may have occurred.
Possible solutions:
Retry the request.
Check your access permissions on this resource.

The folders are, of course, already there.

I often leave my laptop's kmail open while I'm doing this kind of work, and
that has never caused any problem. It seems to be only the dimap connection
that causes it. Still, we'll worry about that later.
