Does it also happen when you render the movie or only on preview ?

The slideshow uses an MLT filter that does the transition. Maybe there
are some bugs in it, I will try to make some tests.

Yes, I remember the random transition request, but currently the MLT
effect used for slideshow does not allow this. So don't expect this
feature too soon...
