Hi.

I am developing Kdenlive on a Kubuntu 6.10, so you should be able to do it 
too :)

If you want help, you will need to send more informations. 
Best thing is to compile FFMPEG from svn, MLT and MLT++ from cvs and Kdenlive 
from svn, following configure instructions at:
http://kdenlive.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?title=Faq_Install#Installing_from_source

If you get some errors compiling, please sent the error logs, otherwise it's 
impossible to help you.
