Well at the moment, I don't have any sound. But sound is a completely 
different chapter at the moment. I'm planning on focusing on sound after 
using lavpipe

Nope, they would be silent.

Hmm, sounds good. In your project file make sure you're able to save 
"metadata". That way you could also take notes in it. Maybe also special 
user-definable flags. So you could make machine readable notes. For 
example imagine you have to pay per minute of finished film for some 
special location. The cutter could then mark all those scenes with a 
special flag and then find out the exact duration or something.

Looks really good, I've now also seen the gui :)

One idea I have for the GUI would be "word-editor" like assignment of 
effects and fades. So you mark a part of the timeline, then assign a list 
of effects. Basically a window or dropdown menue with all the effects. 
Maybe effects which are used by all the footage you marked are really 
marked and those, which are only used in a few clips are "half-marked".
Simmilar to how you set fonts in many programms.
