When running from plasmoidviewer I get this message automatically when the
device is connected.
And no, I'm not going to do all that, I know how my installation is set up
and I know that it's not a bug in my installation. I'm using kdeconnect
master as the rest of KDE, the android version I have is the one on Google
Play (on my tablet) and F-Droid (on the phone).

PS: If you're doing step 4, it means you have something quite wrong on your
installation :/
