Well, I'm using kubuntu 9.04 on my Asus EEE PC 901

At first interface was a bit slow and sluggish but after installing linux 
kernel 2.6.30 and latest bits of xorg stuff acordinf to this manual:

Speed improvement became eye visible and overal perfomance quite acceptable.
