mixing "built from SVN" and distribution binaries

Shouldn't that be KDEDIRS=/path/to/svn/kde:/usr? You forgot to put your 
SVN build in KDEDIRS, and I somehow doubt that your distro is installing 
icons in /usr/bin/share/<wherever>...
