I'm having problems getting KMail to use KDEWallet for its password
retention etc.
Let me say first of all that I'm using Kubuntu Feisty.
KMail keeps on saying that KDEWallet is not running, but KWalletManager
specifically asks for my sudo password at start up.
Entering Konsole to issue the command:
sudo kwalletmanager
gets the wallet icon in the System Tray, but KMail still says KDEWallet
is not running. Right clicking on the wallet icon gives the 'Configure
wallet' menu item, and from that the open wallet icon for KDEWallet.
So I suppose its running.
Using the Access Options tab, I find that in KDEWallet, kmail is denied
access. Looking through the KWalletManager Handbook I see this
statement:
"You will see the name of each application that has asked for access to
the wallet, and the policy you set for it. You cannot edit policies
here, or add them, but it is possible to delete an entry by right mouse
button clicking on it and choosing Delete From the context menu that
appears, or by simply selecting it and pressing the Delete key."
I simply want to make KDEWallet active for KMail, so that my passwords
can be safely stored. Can somebody tell me how this might be done?
