Problems with kdm login

Hello @all,

i've a strange problem with the kdm logon!
KDM uses pam_unix to authenticate and also binds common-auth in /etc/pam.d/kdm.
But i've problems with german umlaut's (äöü, §) etc. due the login.

Thoose problems only appear on kdm login, not in KDE, and not on console login.
The umlauts are printable in e.g. the username field and also on the console.

I think this might be a problem between KDM <--> PAM Auth.

Any ideas?
