Spelling problem in KNode

Knode 0.10.4 on KDE 3.5.6. Composing either a new message or a reply,
mis-spelled word in red, right-click on it, dialog box flashes too fast to
be seen, and the word is replaced with what is (presumably) the first
suggested word in the list.
Any solutions?
