Interestingly, since I installed NTLM support with libsasl2 plugins, I tried 
it with IMAP server and got the same error:

Unable to authenticate via NTLM.
The server replied:
SASL(-4): no mechanism available: No worthy mechs found

even though "Check what server supports" returns "Clear text" and "NTLM".

but "Clear text" authentication works fine (I guess no SASL is involved?).
