I agree totally. You only have to look through the archives of this, kde-linux
and Gnome mailing lists to realise that the vast majority of current linux
users just do not have the technical background or understanding to determine
whether any crash/freeze/reboot or indeed any perceived bug or error is
caused by KDE or the program or the window-manager or X or the Kernel or
underlying system.
I understand the intent of the survey and with a monolithic system like
windows it would be more relevant but in terms of a composite layered system
like linux/kde/wm/app it could end up with very misleading and skewed
results.
