Trashcan behavior in KDE 3.4 beta1

How can I get the same trashcan behavior in KDE 3.4 beta1 that I had in 
previous versions. I figured out that putting a link to the URL trash:/ will 
do part of the job, but the icon is the same whether the trash is empty or 
not. Is there a way to set the icon so that it reflects the status of the 
trash?
