help kdbg wont debug my program

I start kdbg with my application but all of the menus are grayed out.
It is like kdbg doesn't recognize my program as debuggable.
I asked for a gdb transcript (-t), there just the normal start up banner,
no errors or anything.

I can debug the app with good-old gdb.

Any help appreciated...David
