Howard-
Thanks for the feedback.  I think the '2 problems, 2 subjects, 2 messages; 
hits home.

Now, for my problem:
I am able to use Alt-Ctrl-F1 to get to console #1 from kde, no problem.
The problem is returning from the called console to kde.  When I press 
Alt-ctrl F7, I get a graphics box (not xwin) with a message that says "input 
not suported".  I I am on the net in kde, I must reboot to re-access the net.

Since I am a DOS/dosemu user, this console stuff is an issue for me.
