I don't know about the whole kdenetwork module. But to get KMail you 
only need to compile mimelib, libkdenetwork and kmail from the 
kdenetwork module. And yes, we made sure that KMail from HEAD currently 
compiles and works with KDE_3_0_BRANCH.

But please be aware of the fact that the PGP/MIME support is far from 
being finished. Nevertheless you should give it a try.

BTW, to get PGP/MIME support in KMail you also need to compile the 
corresponding plugin and several necessary libraries. For more 
information please go to http://www.gnupg.org/aegypten/. How to test an 
Ägypten-enabled KMail is explained here: 
http://www.gnupg.org/aegypten/development.en.html.
