Just delete the whole cache directory, no need to delete every single
subdirectory.
if the clear cache function doesn't work, be sure to file a bug report at
bugs.kde.org unless there is already such one (and you find it)

Searching is way faster if you have only a part of the whole dataset to look
through.
I don't think this is configurable (might be wrong though)
