Hello,

Hi Mark,

I hope you can help me. I am trying to get "Kdiff3" added to my company's "Company Portal", a program that contains a list of officially-approved software that all employees can download and install. I submitted it to the department that handles the Company Portal and it has gone up through the approvals, but they are now asking for a W-8 form (https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw8ben.pdf) and I have no idea what to enter for some of the fields on that form.

Is there any possible way you could provide the information so I can submit it to them? If not, would you be able to let me know someone else I could contact that might be able to?

The IRS W8-BEN form is usually only needed when payments are being made. As our software is freely licensed no payments are required, and in the case of KDE any payments would be directed to the KDE e.V. a German domiciled non-profit organisation (so the form W8-BEN is the wrong one, as that is for individuals).

The majority of the details that would be required to complete the appropriate form can likely be found at https://kde.org/community/whatiskde/impressum/
Should you need any additional details please contact kde-ev-board at kde.org<mailto:kde-ev-board at kde.org>.

Thank you so much!

Thanks,
Ben
