They aren't KDE sites, though. kde.com (including apps.kde.com) is a
MieTerra service, not a part of KDE. kdeleague.org is a entity that's
supposed to be separate.
I mailed Andreas for the code and the database of apps.kde.com, but he said
they'd be back by now. The sites are recovering from a hardware loss.
But he did tell me that if MieTerra ever stopped apps.kde.com, he'd donate
it all. But we don't know when or if that will happen, so for now we're
stuck.
This is exactly why I think a true apps.kde.org would be better: It'd be
on the central servers where they're less likely to be lost to the
community. It could also more quickly respond to changing KDE needs.
As for source... do you know of an existing codebase to work from, or shall
we begin designing from scratch?
