I totally agree and if the code base is in CVS it allows easier modification, 
let alone all the other benefits of CVS.

I guess this would depend upon just what we would want apps.kde.org to do, I'm 
a QA by trade so I'm hesitant to jump into anything without knowing what the 
requirements are. Some of the questions that would need to be answered would 
be:

- - Do we want to act as a repository for the applications or just as a kind of 
directory service storing just the details of the applications?
- - Should User's be able to enter in their own applications? Would this be a 
moderated process?
- - What statistics do we want to store? Do we want to allow users to vote and 
write reviews for applications?

They are just a few off the top of my head, I think once we can get a general 
consensus in place then we should be able to find an existing code base we 
can atleast start with and tailor to our needs. Just had an idea... is 
kde-look.org a main KDE site? As that codebase woud be sure to be close to 
what we'd want.
