showstopper problem with kmail filenames with colons - file names that are not allowed on windows

I remember I've replaced ':' with '!' for maildir storage while
porting kmail to windows. That was in 2008 and KMail worked well
(except for dbus issues).
Isn't the code still there? Thomas? Till?
