dbus-daemon.exe taking 99% CPU

You haven't written which version of dbus are you using - it is the 
number after dbus-msvc-<numbers>.

And it is very important not to mix mingw and msvc - i suggest to unpack 
dbus-msvc.xxx-bin.tar.bz2 into a seperate directory and run

set DBUS_VERBOSE=1
dbus-launch

from that bin subdirectory and send the result to this list.
