I was about to commit your follow-up patch when I noticed you did not remove 
the ShowScientific, ShowLogic etc modes from the kcfg file (and from the code 
itself). Was that intentional?

And maybe it's worth playing with kconf_update so that the user settings are 
not completely lost during the configuration transition?

Last but not least, you should consider applying for an SVN account to start 
committing the patches yourself :)
