We are planning the 0.4 release for the April, 14th, so it could be in
time for Kubuntu 12.04. It would be great if it was the default IM client!

Unfortunately the feature freeze is very close (March, 17th), and we
have still a lot of things to do, but if Martin (the evil release
manager) agrees, we could delay it for a few days (or make an exception
for that) if message indicator support is being developed but is not
ready. Any volunteer? By the way, if any Kubuntu developer is planning
to do it, we will be very happy to help and to merge it.

Agreed, we are using "KDE IM ..." for everything, and we are trying to
avoid "Telepathy" (the user is not supposed to know that he is using
"Telepathy"), we should just change that to "KDE IM Contacts (like the
window title) in the .desktop file.

This is probably an upstream bug in plasma [1]. Unfortunately until the
bug upstream isn't fixed we cannot do anything about.
But I think that if we manage to get the message indicator support, this
won't be a real issue, for Kubuntu, because user will get the
notification from indicator instead of from the approver...

So, basically the main request is message indicator support, I think we
can do it! If nobody wants to implement it, I can try, but I'm quite
busy at the moment and I have a lot of stuff that I need to finish
before the feature freeze, so I cannot guarantee that it will be ready
for 0.4...
