I am very happy to let everyone know that the 32-bit packages for KDE
3.2.1 built with the Sun compilers (Forte 8) are now available for
download from the usual path:
[ ... ]/stable/3.2.1/contrib/Solaris/8/
KOffice 1.3, KDeveloper 3.* and Quanta will follow shortly.
These packages should work just as fine on Solaris 9. You will
actually get better font rendering than in Solaris 8, if you take the
time to play with ttmkfdir and set up the font paths. The only things
missing will be XRender and Xft2.
The kderequired-321 package is fully compatible with the 3.1.4 version
of kderequired. You can safely uninstall kderequired-314 and install
kderequired-321, it will not break the 3.1.4 packages. There are a
few more packages included in the current version of kderequired,
which are needed by KDE 3.2.1.
I have not released GnuPG, because i am not sure of its status under
the strong encryption export restrictions imposed by the US Federal
Government.
Please take the time to read the installation instructions. And please
post any questions here -- i will try to help.
The mirrors should take a couple of hours to sync.
Have fun.
