[kde-solaris] KDE, checkpass and smartcards

Has anyone done any work on getting KDE to use the Sunblades or SunRays
smartcard devices?? i would like to role KDE out in a school rather then use
Sun's implementation of Gnome 2, but it really hinges on getting smartcard
access working and checkpass using the solaris password file.  Has there
been any updates of late on getting the KDE3.1 packages out??
