Also, the first few chapters of:
http://l10n.kde.org/docs/doc-primer/index.html
should give you a nice "guided tour" of getting started.

Well, since you've invoked me twice, I suppose I'll have to say something :-).

Allen, how much user-visible change is there between akregator 3.5.(0|1) and
branch? I imagine that, since the akregator docs don't exist yet, writing
docs for the 3.5.(0|1) version would be OK.
Liviu, since the akregator doc doesn't exist yet, the first thing to do is to
decide on how to structure the handbook. There's a guide to "what to include"
at :
http://l10n.kde.org/docs/doc-primer/guidelines-include.html
I think the best way to get started would be to write a short introduction
(what is akregator? what can it do?), and a guide to the basic setup and
basic usage: what you need to do to set up akregator the first time it's
used, and how to do the most common tasks with it. Once you've written some
or all of that, send it along to this list, and I'll make sure it gets added
to the "official" doc.
One thing that's very important: you don't need to learn docbook! (docbook is
the format that we use to produce all the KDE documentation). Just write in
plain text format, and we'll do the rest.
I hope that helps you to get started. If you have any other questions, please
ask. You can also find me on IRC in #kde-docs on irc.freenode.net.
Regards,
Philip
