Gallery 2 definitely not an option now

It has been much harder than i thought as basically with gallery 2 it is
that modular, filled with classes and api's that even trying to change what
is displayed for a language is not possible. It has to be easy enough to do
small hacks, so we can get it just right, however is a bit of a
disappointment but like coppermine was simply terrible aswell and options
are limited. Creating our own system, would probably take ages to design and
implement.

looking at zoom gallery it is fairly messy in layout
looking at 4 images gallery it is rough around edges but seems simple enough
to hack

only other ones are php scripts but don't offer all of the basic features we
need, so i'll give that a go and probably will need some hacking otherwise
there is no solution but making our own unless there is a miracle solution
out there.

However there is the possibility of using joomla or other normal content
management system and embedding it with the flash file and then allowing
users to post comments and rating aswell as provide notes. However may be
more tedious to implement, but i suppose we can have a frontpage.

what do you think i should do? i have expirience with hacking joomla and is
good for configuration?

would be greatful for suggestions

Luke
