See it this way: there was a discussion, and there wasn't an overwhelming 
majority for your suggestions right now, otherwise they would have spoken up. 
I also still think that e.g. about: and system:/ are almost the same. And that 
the home:/-ioslave might be not really needed. And that system:/ could very 
well be the default location for the "home" button in konqy. Right now there 
wasn't a consensus reached. Just keep your eye on it, try to find compromises 
and KDE will improve. After all the developers actively working on this stuff 
(currently Ervin) and some core developers (e.g. David) have the last word. 
Not because they became in some secret way the "leaders", but because they 
are respected by everybody for their excellent and substantial amount of work 
they have done for KDE.
