[Kde-pim] does akonadi "Kolab" resource need a kolab server?

Several people have reported this situation.  There doesn't seem to be
any clue, though, as to why it happens to some people.  I guess it
could be distro-related? Which distro do you use?  Any more ideas?
It's odd that only a few people experience the problem.
