Sorry, wrong again :-)  I have several identities in Thunderbird, and
- From is a drop-down from which I can select any identity I wish to use.
I also have an extension called Folder Account, which allows me to set
a some defaults to a folder, rather like KMail does.

Some things are rather neater in KMail, and some in Thunderbird.  Both
have their good points, even though TBird does rely on extensions for
some of the facilities that are considered not mainstream, where KMail
builds them in.
