hi,

without wanting to post to a mail with a flamy subject, i must say, i am having
trouble with kmail since kmail2.
i loved kmail1, but since kmail2, it got really a mess:

* sometimes mails are not sent. workaround: restart akonadi
* sometimes mails are not received. workaround: restart akonadi
* having two computers with kmail, each having the same mail filter, computer 1
applies the filter on the inbox, computer 2 applies the filter on the inbox.
result: the mails appear that are moved to a separate folder are duplicated.
* today's annoyance: "Unknown error. (Unable to fetch item from backend)" when
trying to open a mailinglist folder (+20000 mails)
* since 4.8: i'm using kolab with an ordinary imap account. worked fine before,
now i get a popup window each 5 minutes that it cannot upload the free/busy
data. someone on irc explained that it assumes a real kolab server, which i do
not want to run on my machine

iac ... i'm switching back to thunderbird again ... i might not like some
aspects a lot, but at least i can receive and send emails and browse my mail
folders, which is kind of essential functionality for a mail client ...

tim
