The project is not abandoned, but the website pim.kde.org is. The new 
location for technical information about KDE PIM is KDE TechBase, i.e.
  http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/PIM

For news on KDE PIM it's best to follow Planet KDE PIM, i.e.
  http://pim.planetkde.org/
