A geolocalization plugin and export feature to Picasaweb already
exists in digikam.
I think they are a different kind of functionality. The things I want
to implement are
related to someone's Google email account and are bending more to
usage in pim applications.
Therefore I think the thing I want to implement are more suited as
Akonadi resources. As I am
new to KDE development, where would you suggest to put such a more general API?

I've also read that recently there has been done some work to
integrate Google Reader with Akregator
(see latest commit digest). There was mentioned to base something like
this on Akonadi for KDE-pim 4.2.
Maybe I should contact Didier Hoarau and Frank Osterfeld about my
project and state more clearly
in my proposal that I will provide these pim related features based on
a common library. But I do not want
to get in the way of these two people.
