Hi,

First some clarification:

The KNM version from "branches/work/knetworkmanager" is _not_ meant for users, 
it's _only_ for developers!

Which SVN version did you get? Current stable from 
branches/extragear/kde3/network/networkmanager or the one from 
branches/work/knetworkmanager?

How did you try to compile knm (some more details please)?
Did you ever manage to compile it?
