Yes, there is such a file in /opt/kde3/lib/mcop, and yes, this lib dir does
contain the files 'libarts_mpeglib*'.

I wrote all the stuff in my former email, because there is also a file
/opt/kde3/lib/mcop/OGGPlayObject.mcopclass, which also refers to
'libarts_mpeglib.la', so I thought that if ogg is working so should,
in principle, mp3, since they seem to use (partially) the same libraries.

Sorry, but all that is really mysterious to me.
Maybe, someone who has contact to SuSE people might try to check
whether it is a genuine problem with SuSE (or even more specifically
SuSE 7.3). I remember that SuSE had just such problems before with
older KDE releases.
