what do you think about a pre-release of the whole collection of ports to
the devs here on KDE-MAC? You could send me the whole stuff and I would
bring it into , so that everyone interested in trying the current
state of KDE 4.13 from there, before you actually commit it to MacPorts?
This way we could see how all those patches actually work out in reality.
I am sure not everyone was applying René’s patches from RB to their
current source. I had to apply the KF5 patches blindly on the OSX/CI
system, without even being able to run kwallet.
So, having everything available in a local MacPorts tree which could
easily be cloned from would be a nice way to distribute the stuff
without polluting MacPorts’ SVN tree (which would be the other solution).
Once the port tree is up and running on we could even try to invite
other testers directly at MacPorts-devel. I am sure that Jeremy Lavergne
would join the testing team, as he was very busy trying to catch the
meinproc issue during the last few days, although I don’t know anything
yet about a new crash log.
Don’t you think this could be a viable way to handle this?
Since we surely have all different setups we might be able to catch things
together which you alone didn’t run into (yet)...
