[kde-linux] can't minimize applications

For some reason I suddenly can't minimize apps by clicking on them in the 
pager they also don't show up on the panel as they did when first installed, 
ie, the icon for kmail was on the panel and in the pager. Mandrive 2009 KDE 
4.1.3
