An OpenGL screen saver (nvidia driver installed incorrectly) crashed KDE and I lost the launch bar. I had it set to the top and auto hide. It flashes at the bottom and then disappear now. I changed ~user/.kde/share/config/kickerrc/AutoHidePanel=false and it is back. It should not be possible to lose the launch bar.
