[kde-linux] Configuring Sound System

Currently all the entries under "Hardware" are at their default values;
i.e. "Select the audio device" is currently set to "Autodetect".

This works more often than not.  When the sound fails, the situation can
usually be salvaged by reloading the failed program with "artsdsp"
preceding the command that calls the program.

Given that my setup (Debian Sarge) uses "ALSA", is there merit in changing
the "Select the audio device" to "Advanced Linux Sound Architecture"?
