Running SuSE 9.3 the "MyDesktop" or "Konqueror media:/" work great for local
devices (CD, USB, ...), but how to make it works with other devices ?
Here is my problem, I run KDE on thin clients with X11 remote display using
PXES, in order to allow users to access local devices, I have a "mount -t
subfs" that point on thin client CD+Floppy+USB, I use "nbd" for that.
As a result, mouting thin-client device is fully transparent for the user.
"ls /media/pxes-cd" or "ls /media/pxes-usb" will mount thin-client devices on
the server transparently. From a user point of view it is exactly as if those
devices where local, except for "konqueror media:/" that refuses to display
then. HERE IS THE PROBLEM !!!
If have a CD on the server and an other one on the thin-client, this is how
they will both appear on my (server side) /etc/mtab
> /dev/hda /media/SU920_004 subfs ro,nosuid,nodev,fs=cdfss,procuid 0 0
> /dev/nb0 /media/pxes-cd subfs ro,nosuid,nodev,fs=iso9660,procuid\
> ,program=/sbin/nbd-submountd,nb-host=lena,nb-port=9000 0 0
"konqueror media:/" will show the first one, not the second one !!!
Question: I would like "konqueror media:/" to display all the devices for
which I have a "mount -t subfs" actifs and where I do have a read and/or
write access. Who would know how to do this ?
Thank you.
