uh?? But, the preferred way is to create a separate user account (say kde4)
and setup KDE4 for only this account so that the stability of the system is
not disturbed on your regular user accounts. KDE has both system level and
user level folder structure (can be configured by setting KDE_DIR) using
which one can install KDE4 in the user level only. In that case, by logging
in to the kde4 user, you can get konqueror 4 running when you type konqueror
(user level PATH settings should be configured to take precedence over the
system level PATH settings). Along with executables and libraries, mo files
can also be stored in the user level locale directory so that kde4
translations do not conflict with kde3 translations. I had once tried KDE4
(about 4 months back, it was hardly stable ;) using this separate user
account approach and could preview konqueror, new run dialog etc.

So, if I say konqueror after ssh -X, i would get konqueror from kde
3.xinstead of from kde

OK, that's great. Let's hope KDE4 becomes stable very soon so that we can
start using it for our regular day to day work.
