Could anybody work on this?
I do not know how much work would it mean but renaming is very useful and
I think it would be great to have in digikam 0.10.

Well no, because the code is not yet finalized, and i need more time
to test code indeep.

Ask to kde-imaging at kde.org mailing list if somebody can port Batch
Rename tool. I'm currently too busy to do it.
