what is the goal, then? to release in step with digikam? or some other
application? what exactly is the intended release cycle for these libs.
the way i see it, keeping these libs in extragear, mature as they are, is a
real drag for other applications since it's hard to rely on them existing
which means fewer applications will use them, which in turns means less
attention given to them.
gwenview takes advantage of libkipi, so it's a bit unfortunate it's in
extragear.

this seems like a rather trivial bit, however: kdegraphics ->
extragear-graphics. extragear-libs may also be needed in between (for
libkexiv2?) as well, but this is hardly an imposition all things considered.
